Cross Charlotte Trail Host Public Meeting

12

The City of Charlotte has partnered with Mecklenburg County to create a 30+-mile trail and greenway facility that will stretch from the City of Pineville through Center City and on to UNC Charlotte’s campus and Cabarrus County line.

Once completed, the Cross Charlotte Trail will allow residents to travel seamlessly from one end of Charlotte to the other.

Approximately 140,000 residents and 130,000 jobs will be within walking distance of the proposed trail and the adjacent greenways that connect to it.

On Thursday, April 19, Cross Charlotte Trail will host a public meeting at the Belmont Center for residents to learn about two new segments being added to the trail. They advise to drop in anytime between 4 and 7 p.m. to find out more about the Matheson Avenue to East Craighead Road/Wellingford Street in the Hidden Valley neighborhood extensions.

The project team wants to share the potential alignment, other features and get your feedback. If you can’t attend, Cross Charlotte Trail will have meeting materials available at CharlotteFuture.com/XCLT.
